Solace

A botanical poster assignment from this past semester, we had to incorporate text into the meaning and composition of the assignment. (unfortunately it was required that the text be kept at the bottom and relatively separate.

Poster

For my costume figure drawing class we were asked to create a fictional poster using one of the drawings that we did in class. This is what I came up with. :)

Insights

I was recently selected to be in a student show called Insights at the University Art Museum on campus at CSULB. Being in the show at all was an honor that I am very excited about. Before the opening last night, there was an awards ceremony where they gave out scholarships to a number of student.
I am the happy recipient of the John Lincoln Life Drawing award for my piece called Tux.
Here I am with my piece in the gallery (unfortunately I haven't had a chance to take a better photograph of the actual piece). :)

Costume

This semester I've been taking a costume figure class. It is one of the most fun art classes I've had in a while. To prep you for a surprise I'm saving for tomorrow I'm posting a few of my gestures drawings I've been doing :)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful, caring, supportive, patient, strong, loving mother (I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for you) and to all the other mother's out there who are their children's shoulder to lean on.

Beauty is...

I've been working on my watercolor final in which we have to respond to the statement "beauty is".
I went through a couple of thought processes starting with things like beauty is growth, beauty is ephemeral, beauty is changing...and somehow I ended up with something that doesn't really have as clear a thought process as i was planning.
So here is the initial sketch idea and color study. These are only about 9x12, but the final will be 18x24.
